While we are working on a limited budget, we have incorporated a few things into worship...
* We use lighting to enhance or set focus on speaker * We project all songs "on demand" (we put away the songbooks). * We nearly always project sermon outlines * We project scriptures "on demand". When we have guest speakers and no previously made outline, we project the key sciptures and often change the color of the key words that are being pointed out during the flow of the sermon * We use closed circuit TV so the nursery can view and worship with the congregation I'm anxious to see what others use. I'm always looking for useful ways to incorporate technology into our worship in positive ways. Re: Re: Worship Survey: Technology

When I lead singing we use "the paperless hymnal". When I preach a powerpoint presentation is always used.
2 of our elders use a presentation on powerpoint anytime they teach a class. We have used a video camera in the past for recording special series, etc. sometimes we might show a clip of a lesson or movie, but this is mostly used for VBS or during a bible class ok I think that's about it Re: Worship Survey: Technology

We use the Paperless Hymnal and ePraise Hymnal (haven't reached the "on demand" stage yet), our preacher uses PowerPoint in his sermons, and we project some of the announcements/reminders. We've also had people use PowerPoint in classes or with Wednesday night devos. We also put recordings of Mike's sermons up on our Web site for download.

First off, nice photo looking out from our new A/V booth, Keith.
*Technology should be as transparent as possible in worship. *Central has a Tech Group that consist of primarily of geeks (they'll toss me out the booth window if they read this) and this has been key to getting technology implemented. The Elders are making good use of each individual's talents. *We recently moved our booth from downstairs to an old "cry room" Better control and more room for goodies! *Easy Worship is used when possible and PowerPoint as needed *Announcements etc. are projected before services *Appropriate photos are projected as fill *Assorted graphics are supplied by our many talented graphic artists (a more polished look) *Ministers heavily use "slides" during lessons *The Paperless Hymnal is used, unless it's a new song and then just the words are projected *We try to post the page number on the first slide of each song *The audio is mixed differently for house, recording and overflow *Choir, excuse me, congregation mics are used to pick up singing for a better mix sent to recording, nurseries, foyers, and overflow areas *Video is also sent these areas and is switched to show both speaker and what is being projected on screen to give those viewing a better understanding of the lessons and an opportunity to join in singing *Audio is recorded to commercial grade compact flash recorder. creating an MP3 for web use and as backup for CD *Audio is simultaneously recorded and tracked to CD recorder *Video is recorded to DVD and VHS simultaneously for distribution to shutins, etc. *Video is also recorded to .mov and .wmv format via computer for web use *Currently it's a three person job with rotation so no one gets burnt out - Video Projection, Mixer Board, Recording *Future plans include multi camera, broadcast quality video *Future plans also include video surveillance of parking areas and entrances Technology - I love it and it thrills me to be able to use my talent to God's glory! |
